On 12th September, the Advocate-General, Mr Yves BOT, will deliver his conclusions on the three cases concerning salary adaptations since 1st July 2011. We will let you know the content immediately thereafter.
As a reminder- the Commission submitted a proposal to the Council for adapting, salaries, pensions and correction co-efficients applicable from 1st July 2011. The Council contested these proposals on the grounds that the Commission had not taken into account the data concerning a sudden and serious deterioration of the social and economic situation inside the Union by choosing to apply the “normal method” (Cases C-63/12 and C-66/12). The Commission then went to Court with a complaint on the grounds of the Council failing in its duty to adopt the proposed decision (Case C-196/12).
