The Commission Staff rallies in a General Assembly

The General Assembly called for by all Trade Unions representing Commission staff held in Brussels on 10 December 2009,

After hearing the statement of the facts by their representatives,

REQUESTS the Commission to maintain its proposal on the annual adjustment of staff’s salaries unchanged and not to present another proposal or modify the existing one;

REQUESTS from the Council to respect all the Staff Regulations’ provisions and in particular those concerning the annual adjustment of remuneration (Article 65 and 65a and Annex XI) which foresees that the Council has to decide on the Commission proposal by the end of the year;

SUPPORT the Trade Unions of the Council that in view of the lack of a firm commitment from the Council have already given, a warning strike on Monday, 14 December 2009 from 9:00 to 12:00 and if required, further action on Friday, 18 December;

DECIDES to support the colleagues from the Council by participating to the demonstration in the Council’s Atrium during the strike on the 14 December;

REQUESTS that, if necessary, the Trade Unions call a further General Assembly on 16 December;

INVITES colleagues from other Institutions to take action at their workplaces, which should also allow them to participate out of solidarity in organised demonstrations;
